Yes, Paris is on strike. Upcoming guests have called and emailed concerned whether Paris is safe to visit, should they postpone their trip? Paris is NOT a war zone, unfortunately, we live in an over exaggerated media frenzy world. Even though the demonstrations are...taking place, none of our current guests have yet to complain about the noise and the buses and trains are running normally. C’Est La Vie!

With the founding of the Sorbonne almost 800 years ago, this area became known as "the Latin Quarter" for its professional language. This left bank neighborhood is where you'll find students mingling with business people as tourists browse the second-hand "bouquinistes..." or used book sellers along the quai de Montebello. It's a rarified air, and has been home to literary luminaries and intellectuals including Camus, Descartes and Sarte.
